Two-day family cycling tour east of Chiang Mai

Code: CNX-CLMW

Departure at 08:30 am

Overview

This two day family cycling tour has the same ingredients as our other two day cycling tour to the east (CNX-CLMO) but uses a different accommodation instead. This makes it a suitable cycling tour for larger parties or families with children. The cycling is on well-planned routes down quiet roads and lanes, chosen for the interest and contact with the Thai countryside and Thai way of life. The tour is for the adventurous person, reasonably fit and with an interest in cycling, agriculture, local culture, rural life and scenery.

Itinerary

Day 1: About 37 km flat. (L, D)

After a short safety briefing and bike fitting, we weave our way through quiet lanes, featuring Lanna architecture in some of Chiang Mai’s interesting neighbourhoods not frequented by tourists. The mountains of the Doi Pui range are a splendid backdrop as we follow the flow of the Ping River. The cycling route continues onto country roads through beautiful and varied sceneries. We witness the farmer’s daily life activities and introduce you to ‘the real Thailand’. Your accommodation is in a countryside resort with a swimming pool. There is plenty of space for children to enjoy themselves.

Day 2: About 41 km flat. (B, L)

After breakfast, we visit the nearby dam and reservoir. We then continue our cycling journey on beautiful country roads through ever changing landscapes with orchards, paddy fields, irrigation canals and small villages. Slowly and surely, we approach the outskirts of Chiang Mai. Via a well-chosen cycling route of small streets and alleyways, we avoid heavy traffic and arrive back at your hotel, where you can relax and unwind from an exciting cycling adventure.
